Newest finalized shader using Substance Painter and the Clay Doh.4 addon for Blender
Alkazar is the first character made for our little indie studio, Studio FREAK. He's designed for our upcoming web animated series, Wizard on Campus.
As the only dedicated character artist in Studio FREAK, it was my job to concept, model, and rig the character in order to create an appealing, and nicely controllable rig for our animator.
Alkazar's design infuses goat-like features like ears, horns, and square eyes into a small, gnome-like figure. This gives him a unique but still fantasy look.
He is meant to be a comical and explosively energetic character.
My process often includes ZBrush and Substance Painter, but in the interest of production speed and pipeline efficiency/ compatibility, all parts of the creation process for Alkazar were done in Blender, Studio FREAK's tool of choice.
